Early this year NDC brought some instructions about 2026 Internal Elections & Reorganisation:
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) announced its comprehensive roadmap for the 2026 reorganisation and internal elections, aimed at strengthening the party from the grassroots up.
ELIGIBILITY AND RESIGNATION PROVISION.
Pursuant to Article 54 of the Party’s Constitution, specific government appointees intending to contest for a party position must resign at least six (6) clear months before filing nomination forms.

Affected Offices Include (But are Not Limited To):
Ministers and Deputy Ministers
Chief Executive Officers, Managing Directors, their Deputies, or analogous officers

Exempt from this restriction:
Chairpersons or members of Boards, or persons in analogous positions.
*The cut off date was 13th June 2026 for resignation.*
Currently party faithfuls are picking nominations forms and filing and vetting of prospective candidates are all in the process.
The biggest challenge is some government appointees who are banned from contesting because they didn’t resign at the said 13th June 2026 are slipping through quiet constituencies .

If this is not curtailed it will delay our roadmap.
I will appreciate if the indefatigable General Secretary of our party can publish the list they have received at the headquarters so there is no ambiguity about who can contest
A few months ago we read on some news portals that circulating of resignation on Social media was not the right forum but the official forum was to write to the General Secretary attached with a copy of the resignation letter stamped from Jubilee House. We know these records will be available
We are awaiting that list of those who have resigned and written to the General Secretary. The Party should to make that list go viral to election directiors in constituencies and bring transparency and clarify
The earlier this list comes the better it is for our great party.
