The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has released the timetable for its 2026 Constituency, Regional and National Executive Elections following a directive by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 5, the party said the FEC, at its meeting on Tuesday, August 4, directed the release of the timetable to commence the process for electing new constituency, regional and national executives.

According to the NDC, the timetable provides “a comprehensive roadmap for the conduct of the Party’s internal elections,” covering the various stages of the electoral process, including “the opening of nominations, filing of nominations, vetting of aspirants, appeals, balloting, and elections at the Constituency, Regional, and National levels.”

The party said the release of the timetable reaffirms “the Party’s commitment to conducting transparent, credible, and well-organised internal elections in accordance with the Constitution of the National Democratic Congress and the approved Election Guidelines.”

It therefore urged all regional and constituency executives, aspirants and members to familiarise themselves with the timetable and comply with its provisions.

“The Party therefore calls on all Regional and Constituency Executives, aspirants, and members to carefully study the attached timetable and ensure strict adherence to all stipulated timelines, procedures, and deadlines. Compliance with these schedules is essential to guarantee a smooth, orderly, and successful electoral process,” the statement said.

The NDC also expressed appreciation to its members, executives and stakeholders for their continued support and commitment to the party.

“The Party expresses its profound appreciation to all members, executives, and stakeholders for their continued dedication, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of the Party,” it said.

The party further expressed confidence that the unity demonstrated during its reorganisation process would position it strongly for the next general election.

“We remain confident that the spirit of unity and collective purpose that has characterised our reorganisation process will continue to strengthen the Party as we prepare to secure an emphatic victory in the 2028 General Elections,” the statement added.

According to the timetable, nominations for constituency executive positions will open on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:00 a.m. and close on Thursday, September 17, at 5:00 p.m. Prospective aspirants are required to apply online through the party’s designated portal, forms.ghanandc.com.

Aspirants will then have seven days to complete their nomination forms, including securing endorsements on Form B.

The filing of nominations will take place on Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24. Nomination forms must be submitted online between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., while hard copies are to be filed at the respective constituency offices during the same period.

Vetting of constituency aspirants is scheduled from Friday, September 25, to Sunday, September 27, at the constituency offices.

An appeals process will follow from Tuesday, September 29, to Thursday, October 1, with hearings to be conducted at the regional offices.

Constituency executive elections are scheduled for Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, at designated venues within each constituency.

For the national executive elections, nominations will open on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00 a.m. and close on Wednesday, October 21, at 5:00 p.m., with applications also to be submitted online through the party’s portal.

National aspirants will have 14 days to complete their nomination forms before filing nominations from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9.

As with the constituency elections, nomination forms must be submitted online and in hard copy at the NDC national office between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Vetting of national executive aspirants will take place from Thursday, November 12, to Friday, November 13, at the party’s national headquarters.
