Several people are feared trapped after a three-storey building collapsed at Adenta New Site in the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday, June 3.
The incident has triggered an emergency response, with rescue teams rushing to the scene to search for and retrieve individuals believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.
Eyewitnesses say the structure suddenly gave way, leaving parts of the building completely flattened and others partially hanging. Some residents in the area reported hearing a loud noise moments before the collapse.
Emergency personnel, including officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the police, are currently on site carrying out search and rescue operations.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of people affected, and there is no official information on casualties as of now. However, concerns remain high that several individuals may still be trapped under the debris.
Rescue efforts are ongoing, with heavy equipment and manual search teams being used to carefully remove debris in a bid to locate survivors.
