 The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central Constituency, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, in collaboration with the District Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi Central District, Hon. Peter Amponsah, last weekend invited all mining sector stakeholders within their district for a consultative meeting to discuss the current state of mining and related activities in the district, and to make decisions that align with Government goals for the sector.

The event which was held on the 10th of May, 2025 at the Jabistiep Hotel, Agona Amenfi targeted stakeholders like

• Small-scale miners
• Gold buyers
• Excavator operators
• ‘One-leg’ operators
• ‘Chanfang’, ‘Shooting’, and ‘Dig and wash’ operators among others.

There were lots of dignitaries who honoured the event including the Deputy General Secretary of the ruling NDC party Mustapha Gbande and the National Organiser Joseph Yamin, Director of operations at the presidency, Regional Women Organizer for Western Region Mama Gladys and the District coordinating director, Hon.Daniel D. Kangaye.

Speaking to Hon Joana Gyan popularly known as Obaa Naaaa she told you this reporter that the event went as planned and they are very much appreciative of everybody whose effort made it possible.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to each and every individual who took time to participate in yesterday’s stakeholders’ engagement with gold dealers and miners of Amenfi Central. Your presence and contributions were invaluable!

Special appreciation goes to our national executives,Hon. Joseph Yamin, NDC National Organizer,Hon. Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary and Director of operations at the presidency, Regional Women Organizer for Western Region Mama Gladys and the District coordinating director, Hon.Daniel D. Kangaye.

Your insightful education and guidance were truly enriching.

We also thank,The Constituency Executives of Amenfi Central for their tireless efforts and support and to Our constituents, miners, gold buyers, and concession owners for making the program a success
