Gospel minister and veteran musician Jack Alolome, known in private life as Jacob Kwaw, was honoured with a citation at the 5th Diamond Excellence Awards held in Kadé, Eastern Region, on Thursday, May 1, 2026.
The award recognized his soulful artistry and the joy his music has brought to audiences over the years. In recognition of his contribution, Alolome received a plaque, a citation, a medal, and a diamond.
Speaking after receiving the honour, an emotional Alolome expressed gratitude to God, the chairman of the event, the organizers and planners of the awards scheme, and the entire audience present.
He reflected on his journey in the music industry, revealing that his first album was released in 1999. Since then, he has never received an award from the Ghana Music Awards scheme.
“I have never seen diamond in real life before,” he said. “So for the organizers to honour me with a real award makes me believe that you only need to be steadfast, wait upon the Lord, continue to work hard, and at the right time God will honour you beautifully.”
