The legal community in Kumasi has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of a young lawyer shortly after Ghana’s dramatic 1-0 victory over Panama in the FIFA World Cup.

The deceased, identified as Sara Araba Tettey, 26, reportedly collapsed while celebrating the Black Stars’ late winning goal with friends at the Standard Hostel in Bomso during the early hours of Thursday.
According to reports, the atmosphere had been filled with excitement as Ghana secured a crucial victory in their World Cup campaign. However, the celebrations turned tragic when Araba suddenly fell unconscious.
Friends quickly rushed her to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital for emergency medical attention. Despite efforts by health professionals to save her life, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Sources close to the family indicated that the young lawyer had no known history of heart-related illness. While the exact cause of death remains unknown, some suspect she may have suffered a cardiac arrest triggered by extreme excitement.
Her body has since been deposited at the KNUST Hospital morgue pending an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.
Until her passing, Araba Tettey was practicing with O & A Legal Consult after being called to the Ghana Bar earlier this year.
News of her sudden death has sent shockwaves through the legal fraternity, particularly among alumni and members of the KNUST Faculty of Law, where she studied.
Tributes and messages of condolence have continued to pour in on social media as colleagues, friends, and loved ones remember a promising young legal practitioner whose life was cut short unexpectedly.
