Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Ernest Addison at a press conference in Accra on Friday announced the introduction of the new GH¢100 and GH¢200 notes including a GH¢2 coin by the Bank of Ghana.
Explaining the reason for the development, the governor said the face value of the cedi compared to the US dollar over the past 12 years had Worn down due to high inflation and depreciation.
He therefore believes that, the introduction of the new currencies will help up strengthen the value of the Ghanaian Currency
