Ghanaian celebrities such as Shatta Wale, Afia Schwarzenegger, Wendy Shay and many others have come at the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) recently over a ban that was placed preventing celebs from advertising or endorsing alcoholic beverages.

The newest to react to all the controversies about this topic is the legendary Gyedu Blay Ambolley. Many would have thought he will be on the side of these celebrities on this matter but interestingly Gyedu Blay Ambolley seems to be supporting the FDA.

The veteran artist stated that alcohol is destructive and believes celebrities with “proper sense” will not endorse it adding that it is right for the FDA to take such a step for the future of the Ghanaian youth. He told Mz Gee on 3FM’s ShowBuzz.

He noted that many of current  music videos features the youth and promoting alcoholic products could easily influence these young ones.

“All those celebrities who have proper sense will not endorse alcohol because alcohol is not good.”

“Celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages shouldn’t be allowed at all. Music and alcohol shouldn’t be allowed because it will be enticing the youth. If you look at music videos, it all features young boys and girls. Alcohol must not be in the system for the young boys and girls to feast on it.” He said.

Ambolley urged the FDA to ensure that the laws of the country are respected.
